Mr. Johnson is an engineering consultant specializing in Metallurgical Engineering and failure analysis in both railroad litigation and product liability cases.  Mr. Johnson also provides consulting and expertise in new product development, diesel-electric locomotive design, and railroad maintenance and overhaul practices.  He also conducts extensive laboratory testing of materials, fire investigations, exhaust emissions and vibration analysis, and locomotive and freight car equipment analysis, as well as general engineering investigations.

Mr. Johnson received a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.  His background includes 13 years in Engineering and Management positions at GE Transportation Systems, currently the world's largest manufacturer of diesel-electric locomotives.

Mr. Johnson is a registered Professional Engineer.  He has lectured and taught University courses and at a number of professional societies.  He has testified for both plaintiff and defense in federal and state courts.
